“Numerology and Tarot” with Richard Hartnett
Those of us who have been Tarot readers for many years know there is a large array of Tarot Decks available. Most decks are composed of a set of unique drawings that are interpretations of the traditional Tarot cards. These drawings range from highly relevant to intuitive artistic excursions.
Having different decks is a good way to expand our relationship with the cards. When we work with a deck, we hope that it will give us useful symbolic information to use in our readings. Each reading is a blend of our intuition and our knowledge that is triggered by symbolic drawings. The more a reader has to work with the better the reading is going to be.
Numerology is an oracle tool where each number conveys specific qualities and attributes associated with that number. Numerology can be a useful tool to expand what we have to work with, IF the number assigned to a card fits with the meaning of a card. In this workshop we will explore our personal associations with numbers. Then we will review each of the qualities and attributes associated with the primary numbers zero through nine as they are defined in Numerology. Next we will explore together how the meanings we associate with the Major Arcana cards and the numbers assigned to them match. Then we will consider the traditional numbers assigned to each of the Major Arcana cards to see which ones fit and which ones do not. Finally we will also explore how renumbering some of the cards could expand a deck’s usefulness.
